Splice protection element CSS CSS (VE150) – PPC – 640002008-BLI: Splice protector CSS CSS (VE150), The crimp splice protector (CSS) is used to protect fiber optic fusion splices. The stable construction of the crimp splice protection ensures sufficient mechanical protection. The permanently elastic mass in the crimp splice protection, in which the unprotected splice is embedded, prevents damage to the splice due to environmental influences. When used properly, the crimp splice protection does not affect the attenuation of the splice. The crimp splice protection can be used for glass fibers with an outer diameter of up to 250 µm. The crimp splice protection presented here can be processed without restriction with the commercially available crimping splice protection tools. The blister packaging ensures safe transport and offers good protection for the crimp splice protection. The blister pack can also be resealed after the crimp splice protection has been removed one at a time.
