Patch panel fiber optic
LWL is the abbreviation for fiber optic cable. Multi-core fiber optic cables begin or end in a fiber optic patch panel. If connections have to be made between different fiber optic cables, the individual fiber optic cables in them are fanned out. This process is called splicing. As a result, fiber optic patch panels are also called splice boxes. But the splice box is just the cassette in which the fiber optic cables coming from the permanent installation are accommodated. It therefore represents only one part of the fiber optic patch panel. The other part is the so-called front panel, on which different fiber optic connectors are located. Flexible fiber optic cables / patch cables are then connected to these connectors to forward the signals to the individual rooms. The cable is spliced open and the contacts are placed on the connectors using a so-called LSA application tool. You can also get this quickly and inexpensively here in the eibabo online shop.
